PS4 Pro will have the SATA 3.0 interface to improve your data transfer

The new Sony PS4 Pro console will have support for SATA 3.0 devices that will improve performance over PS4 that used SATA 2.0

Sony has confirmed it officially, the new PS4 console is updated to the SATA 3.0 interface to allow your hard drive to have a higher data transfer rate, something that should directly impact the performance of the console.

The SATA 3.0 interface allows doubling the transfer rate of the SATA bus from 3Gb / s of SATA 2.0 to 6Gb / s of SATA 3.0, which is supposed to improve the performance of the console somewhat, that is, as long as it mounts a drive unit. hard disk capable of passing the 3Gb / s of the SATA 2.0 port to be able to take advantage of the SATA 3.0. But when they update the port we assume it is for some reason.

This interface change coupled with a hard drive, which can take advantage of it, should improve the installation speed and the loading times of the games, in terms of the performance in FPS of the change we would be talking about 2 or 3 more FPS.

Currently the firmwares used by PS4 and PS4 Slim already have support for SATA 3.0 but without the necessary hardware, it just remains there, driver support. Which means that the PS4 Pro must have a new SATA controller that supports SATA 3.0.

Sony, who recently announced the PS4 Pro, placed a lot of emphasis on the quality of the games in 4K, that the console would have more FPS and that they would stabilize the Frame rate that on the PS4 was very variable. This, together with the new firmware released for PS4 and PS4 Slim that supports HDR technology, should make the 3 Sony models improve the contrast in the blacks, giving a feeling of higher graphic quality, since in the end the resolution of the PS4 Pro will not be native 4k, but re-scaled.

Recall that PS4 Pro will hit the market the following November 10 with a starting price of € 399.
