Raja Koduri wants Intel to close a working agreement with Samsung
Intel's problems meeting demand and advancing lithography are more than just patents. It seems that the company is very interested in closing an agreement with Samsung and working both companies together. Tomorrow Raja Koduri will present Samsung's Advanced Casting Ecosystem (SAFE) Forum. It would be the exemplification of the rapprochement between Intel and Samsung and perhaps the confirmation of the cooperation.
Raja Koduri is Intel's Chief Architect and Senior Vice President of the Dedicated Graphics Division. Ever since he came to Intel from AMD, he has had a mission to develop dedicated graphics that compete with his old company and with NVIDIA. Even since his arrival, he has received several promotions and expanded responsibilities.

One of the main supporters of the collaboration between foundries is Raja Koduri, who has traveled several times to South Korea. And is that Intel does not have the capacity to satisfy the huge number of chips, hence outsourcing. The company has announced that TSMC will manufacture different processors and graphics cards, since their production capacity at 10nm is very limited.
It seems that Intel does not want to depend on TSMC, who manufactures for AMD, who with the Ryzen is putting Intel on the ropes. For this they would have turned to Samsung Foundry. Raja Koduri would be working to close a collaboration with the South Korean company, which would produce its chips in 5nm.
Bob Swan, CEO of Intel, has already indicated that they do not have closed who will be in charge of producing their chips. TSMC would already have several agreements on the table, but Koduri bets more on Samsung. The South Korean foundry could be chosen by offering better prices compared to TSMC. It should be noted that this agreement would not start until 2023, which is when the production of chips under 5nm is expected.
