The NVIDIA RTX 3050 would have a cheaper 6 GB model

The RTX 3060 is currently the best graphics card for gaming, due to how versatile it was, and how relatively easy it was to obtain it once it stopped being exceptionally profitable for mining cryptocurrencies, and replaced the GTX 1060 as the most popular on Steam. But not everyone who wants to renew their graphics card can opt for it, either for money or because the features of their equipment would not take advantage of the resolution and frames. NVIIDA has accepted that it can sell two different generations of graphics cards at the same time and that is why they continue to sell and produce RTX 3000, and in the future, according to Videocardz, It would be joined by an RTX 3050 model with 6 GB GDDR6.

Nothing is confirmed, and everything comes from the possible leak of Videocardz. It is possible that it will not be announced, but they say that it will have a presentation quite soon, so it could be in the production phase right now for its announcement.

A cheaper RTX 3060 model with 6 GB would be coming

NVIDIA has reportedly shared updated details about its next budget option, the RTX 3050 with 6 GB of memory. It would be positioned as a cheaper alternative to the existing 8GB model, attempting to compete with the Radeon RX 6750 GRE. This GRE model is not currently officially available through all DIY channels beyond China, so the launch of the 3050GB RTX 6 could have a broader reach.

Furthermore, The RTX 3050 is not especially popular among desktop gamers. NVIDIA's main goal in launching this product would be to offer a cheaper option that costs less than $200, and an option to have ray tracing in games and even DLSS, although it is very limited.

The card could use a GA107-325 GPU with 2.048 CUDA cores, which is 512 cores less than the current 8GB. Additionally, its 6 GB of memory would mean that the card could be limited by a 96-bit memory bus. According to Board Channels, the expected launch price for the RTX 3050 6GB card would be $179. Videocardz has released a comparison with the current 3050GB RTX 8 model, which costs about $220. $40 separates 2 GB of VRAM and a better memory bus, so it would be a model that would go to those who think more than $200 is not worth the upgrade. Possibly, a market for especially lagging gamers.
