A modified BIOS of the RTX 3090 Ti causes it to consume 890 W
NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is currently the most power consuming graphics card. It has a nominal TDP of 450W, but overclockers have managed to push it well beyond this limit.
Twitter user MEGAsizeGPU managed to unlock a higher power limit thanks to the XOC BIOS he obtained. This BIOS is designed to overclock the graphics card to the extreme. The BIOS was flashed onto an ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 Ti TUF Gaming graphics card , which has a nominal TDP of 450W, the limit of the reference version. But once flashed, the GPU's power limit jumped to 890W , almost double its original power limit and very close to the 1kW barrier.
An RTX 3090 Tui has been overclocked to the extreme
In terms of practical use, such a high power cap will be of little to no use to players. To reach the necessary power to feed those 890 watts that it asks for when overclocked, a single 16-pin connector that only reaches 450W is impossible. Also, the cooling on most of these cards is not designed to sustain a high TDP above 600W.

The ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 Ti TUF Gaming graphics card was capable of running at up to 615W (TBP) and 496W (TGP). Chiphell also managed to fit the same BIOS on an EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 graphics card and reported figures of 614W (TBP) and 498W (TGP). These numbers usually have little impact on core clocks unless you're running them under liquid nitrogen continuously.
Running Furmark raises the motherboard's power consumption to a staggering 945W and the GPU's to a whopping 822W. It's unclear whether these are peak power levels or short bursts, as a single 16-pin connector can't provide a sustained 950W . It's possible they've made a physical modification to power the graphics card during this high power draw. As is often the case with extreme overclocking, this isn't realistic and likely to be useful for home or business use. These tests are intended to put the hardware to the test and see what would be needed to improve performance in the future.
