AMD RX 5700 XT 50TH Anniversary Edition e3 2019

Initially the AMD RX 5700 XT were going to be called RX 690 and we know that thanks to one of the slides of the company's conference at E3 2019.

People who look for the smallest detail in anything have always caused me a sensation. Sometimes I have hunted some curious detail of series and such, but it is the least of the time. What comes now is a rather curious fact about AMD. Some users seem to have detected something strange in the presentation of the company at E3 2019.

Several users seem to have noticed that the image of the RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition is incorrect. The blower-style fan clearly reads "Radeon RX 690 Limited Edition." This suggests that the AMD graphics cards were originally intended to have a different name. It appears that someone used the wrong image for the presentation during the Los Angeles event.

The RX 5700 XT would actually be the RX 690

Everything suggests that the name change occurred shortly before the presentation of these graphics. The image in the AMD presentation appears to be a rendering or studio image. Due to an oversight, the presentation has not been modified and that is why it retained the old name. As an anecdote it is great, but nothing more.

And is that the current AMD RX 5700 XT and RX 5700 could have been called RX 690 XT and RX 690 or RX 690 and RX 680. What this image would say is that these RX 5700 presented are the top of the range. There would be no model above these graphs. Something that for many will be a complete disappointment.

We want to emphasize that from AMD they have not clarified any of this. Despite this being indicated, it may be that there are superior models and that is why the name change. All options are possible and we will have to wait for more events.
