AMD's Ryzen 9 3900X suffers a 19% price cut, putting Intel in trouble
We don't have a date for Intel to launch Comet Lake-S processors that are based on 14nm. These processors are characterized by returning HyperThreading to the entire range and reaching up to 10 cores and 20 threads. AMD is not willing to let Intel cut ground in the market and has started to downgrade its processors.
If a few days ago we reported the cut of the Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 7 3800X processors, now it's the Ryzen 9 3900X's turn. The company has decided to lower its 12-core, 24-thread processor from $ 499 to $ 419.99. This represents a reduction of 19% and makes things difficult for Intel significantly.

Intel is slated to launch Comet Lake-S processors soon, which should be priced tighter. Intel currently sells its 7-core, 9700-thread Core i8-8K processor for about $ 410. Intel's solution with fewer cores and threads was an inferior option than AMD's, but now it becomes a worse solution.
We recall that the Ryzen 9 3900X has 12 cores and 24 threads working at a base frequency of 3.8GHz and in Boost mode it reaches 4.6GHz. These processors are based on the Zen2 @ 7nm architecture with 64MB cache, PCIe 4.0 interface and a 125W TDP.
The idea behind this price reduction is to make it difficult for the Core i9-10900K 10-core, 20-thread processor to hit the market. This processor is very interesting, but the price could kill it, if it comes to a similar price of the Core i9-9900K, which costs more than 540 dollars.
We assume that Intel, according to rumors, will adjust the prices of the Comet Lake-S down, but until they are released, there are no guarantees. It will all be a matter of waiting and seeing what happens when they finally decide to launch them on the market.
