The first review of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card has been leaked, specifically the MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming Z. Despite this leak, there aren't many reviews available when the market opens for analysis of the cards, as it seems the models will arrive later than expected (we're still waiting for NVIDIA Spain to deliver and send us an RTX 2080 FE). Meanwhile, HardOCP has gotten its hands on the MSI card and published a review with its benchmarks.
HardOCP leaks the first review of the MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming Z.
MSI's graphics card makes use of TU106 silicon with a total of 2304 CUDA Cores, a total of 64 ROP and 144 TMU. It is working at a base frequency of 1410MHz (1410MHz the reference model) and can reach 1830MHz in Boost mode (1710MHz the reference model) although it can reach a speed of up to 1926MHz, with a total of 8GB of memory GDDR6 with a frequency of 14GHz.
It has been purchased with the MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X and the ASUS RoG Strix RX Vega 64. This graphics card is generally 16% more powerful than the GTX 1080 in the Shadow of the Tomb Raider, 4% compared to the FarCry 5 (7% @ 4K), 7% more powerful in Kingdom Core: Deliverance (17% @ 4K), 17% more powerful in Wolfenstein II, and up to 7% more powerful than in Battlefield 1 (8% @ 4K )
We talk about the RTX 2070 being slightly more powerful than the GTX 1080 at the same operating frequencies. The MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z aims to be on average 10% more powerful than the MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X, which while not a noticeable performance jump, this graphics card will one day offer support for Ray Tracing and DLSS, which will be the same day that a game that requires these technologies hits the market.
