AMD Big Navi will arrive, according to rumors, with 16GB GDDR6

It may seem like we are repeating ourselves, but it seems to be the day of the graphics card leaks. A while ago we were talking about how the AMD Big Navi could be up to 225% more powerful than the RX 5700 XT. Now it has been leaked how much VRAM memory this monstrous graphics would integrate. According to rumors, this new graphics from AMD would arrive with up to 16GB GDDR6.

The RDNA architecture is specifically intended for gaming and does not have the GCN issues. The problem with GCN is that it depended a lot on the bandwidth of the memories, for this reason HBM2 was used. This in RDNA no longer happens and GDDR6 can be used comfortably, thus reducing price and technical problems.

AMD Big Navi will use 16GB GDDR6, goodbye to HBM2

Note that the latest rumors suggest that a Big Navi with RNDA2 architecture will be very powerful. According to rumor, it would be up to 225% more powerful than the RX 5700 XT, although those are big words. Perhaps part of this power has to do with Ray Tracing and has gotten into a rather curious bag.

Returning to the VRAM memory of the Big Navi, this would be designed for gaming in 4K resolutions. For these types of resolutions and textures a large amount of VRAM is needed, hence the integration of 16GB GDDR6. Finally AMD will launch a graphics card capable of moving 4K with great fluidity, or that is the forecast.

While NVIDIA seems to have advanced the presentation of the RTX 30 Ampere, AMD continues with its plans. Big Navi or the AMD RDNA2 would be presented in the last quarter of this year. The plan would be to take advantage of the Christmas pull, where more and more technology is sold. Regarding the price there is not much data, but it is expected to be optimal to compete with NVIDIA solutions. If it does not come in power, at least compete in quality-price with NVIDIA.
