Virgin chooses Spain thanks to Adif for its first European Hyperloop One development center

Spain was chosen as the research and development center for Virgin Hyperloop One, which will be based in Malaga and will generate hundreds of jobs.

Good news for Spanish engineering and the national economy, since Virgin Hyperloop One has chosen Spain for the development of its transport system. The town that has won the race is Bobadilla, in Malaga, where Adif has railway infrastructures for experimentation and where Hyperloop systems will be tested and developed, the train of the future designed by Elon Musk that can reach speeds of 1200KM / h and that it intends to revolutionize transportation, in general.

Virgin's Hyperloop will be manufactured in Malaga thanks to Adif.

The company based in the United States has made an initial investment of 432 million euros and the state 'would be conditioned to obtain 126 million euros in calls for public aid (loans and grants to R & D & i for the facilities)'

Thanks to this important agreement, the first Hyperloop center in Europe will be created in Spain and the decision, among others, was motivated by the fact that Spain has the second largest high-speed rail network in the world.

In addition, selecting Andalusia to install this center is based on the fact that the autonomous community has a total of nine thousand companies related to transport and logistics and also has the second largest aerospace conglomerate in Spain. The new center will also have a total of 250 direct workers and will also generate many indirect jobs since it will need suppliers of materials.

The first step is to adapt the facilities and this will take several years, specifically it is expected that the facilities will be ready by 2020. Then it will be necessary to work on the development of transport devices and their improvement. Without a doubt, this is great news for our country, one of the most backward in science and technology in Europe.
