AMD officially launches today the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900X processor, the smallest of the family, which has eight cores and sixteen threads of processing.

A new AMD processor arrives on the market, specifically the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900X has been officially launched today, which will arrive with a TR4 socket and that can be used only with the X399 chipset. This will be the simplest processor of all and will have eight cores and sixteen processing threads, with a base frequency of 3.8GHz and a Boost frequency of 4.0GHz. We must add to this processor, which offers 64 PCIe lines, compared to only 24 of a Ryzen 7. The TDP also increases, since we went from 95W of a Ryzen to 180W in this Threadripper, which is not understandable, because it is basically the same processor or very similar. This processor, like all Threadripper, has XFR technology, which we have already commented many times that does not work, that it is only a frequency peak that lasts for seconds and that does not contribute absolutely anything.

This Threadripper 1900X also offers Quad Channel support, supporting up to 2TB of DDR4 RAM with a frequency of 3200MHz, it supports ECC RAM and RDIMM, although the latter has not been confirmed by AMD. This processor has 16MB of L3 cache memory, which means that it is 4MB for each CCX module. This processor is made up of four Ten and therefore has two cores enabled for each DIE. We will add some performance graphs offered by AMD, but we will not add the performance in games, since buying these processors for games is a sovereign nonsense.
