HP Envy x360 2-in-1 will be the first laptop to hit the market with AMD Vega 8 Mobile graphics, but these graphics will not carry HBM2 memories, they will use GDDR5 memories.
AMD is scheduled to introduce the AMD Ryzen Mobile during CES 2018, launching at that time or a few days later. It is also expected that in this technological event we will have the first data regarding the AMD Vega Mobile. Vega Mobile will arrive inside a laptop from HP, specifically the HP Envy x360 2-in-1. This has allowed us to know some details about this model of graphics for laptops.
AMD makes Vega 8 Graphics available to graphics manufacturers for the laptop market and will have 256MB of DDR4 memory. The system in total has 8GB of DDR4 and only 256MB will be allocated to the Vega 8 Mobile. This dedicated graph has 8 Compute Units based on Vega. This graphics card will work at 300MHz and will have 256MB DDR4, as we have mentioned, these memories will work at 400MHz and will have a bandwidth of 12GB / s.
Internally, the HP laptop has a Ryzen 5 2500U unit, also having the Radeon Software 17.7 tool, but the new 17.11 drivers would not have been installed. Regarding the rest of the features, this HP laptop has a 1TB mechanical hard drive and would not carry, at least the model that has been seen, an SSD unit. The price of this laptop will be $ 799.98 at the Best Buy store.
We must emphasize that this system will not finally make use of HBM2, with which this solution based on the RX Vega loses strength and power, remaining in discrete graphics, thinking of an integrated, rather simple graphics solution that allows gaming in a range very input.
