HTC develops a wireless system for its VR glasses

Virtual reality is here, but it still has a major drawback: all VR headsets need to be connected to a computer to function. The problem is that this limits your mobility. Currently, the most intensive research is focused on eliminating these cables to give users greater freedom and a better experience. MSI has focused on creating a backpack-style computer for VR , while HTC has developed an accessory to eliminate the cable altogether. HTC has created TPCAST , a system that allows you to use VR headsets wirelessly.

HTC has highlighted that this connection system will not change the experience at all, since there is no difference with respect to the helmet connected by cable. Regarding autonomy, the president of HTC in the China region has confirmed that they are also working on a battery to improve autonomy, since with this first system it will only have an autonomy of an hour and a half. It is not that it is a short time, far from it, especially since we have to take into account that the experience of playing with the glasses on, wears out.

If we want to get our hands on this 'extra,' we can already pre-order it on HTC's Chinese website, as it seems it will initially be available only in China . However, if we pre-order it there, it will arrive at our home without any problems, since they plan to offer international shipping. There's another issue, though: there aren't enough units for everyone. HTC has stated that the quantities of this new wireless system are limited, so if we're not quick, we might have to wait until it's more widely available. This system is priced at $220, which is approximately €200.
