IDT Corporation and MercuryFX will begin operating under the Ripple blockchain
Ripple announces that IDT Corporation and MercuryFX join the project and will begin to work on solutions and systems based on xRapid, for transferring capital quickly and efficiently.
Ripple's popularity continues to grow and more and more companies are seeing the opportunities this cryptocurrency offers. Ripple is more than a cryptocurrency, it offers xRapid technology, which allows the transfer and validation of capital practically instantaneously between two points, regardless of the distance between the points. Banks and equity companies are seeing the potential of the XRP blockchain, so much so that telecom provider IDT Corporation and international payments services group MercuryFX have announced a pilot program for capital transfers.
These two companies are the last to join the list of companies that bet on XRP and join others such as MoneyGram or Master Card, who are already working, in the testing phase, with this technology. XRP last October, I already announced that the Mexican financial services company, Cuallix, was also using this technology. The idea of these these companies is to improve the speed of payments from point to point, validating them in real time. In addition, it also seeks to reduce the cost of transactions, since XRP commissions are practically non-existent.
Alfredo O'Hagan, Senior Vice President of Consumer Payment Business at IDT Corporation, said in a statement that: 'We are excited about the adoption of Ripple's xRapid solution for on-demand liquidity. We hope xRapid will allow us to settle more transactions in real time and at a lower cost '
"Payment providers, such as IDT Corporation and MercuryFX, are prime movers because they understand what XRP can do for their business and customer experience," Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said of the announcement. "We are excited to have them at the forefront of the Internet of Value."
