In the Valley of Gods could have been secretly canceled by Valve

Camposanto no longer references that he is working on In the Valley of Gods. Neither do its employees or Valve.

Back at The Game Awards 2017, In The Valley of Gods was presented to the world, a new exploratory adventure by the creators of Firewatch. It was one of those “walking simulators” that caused so much suspicion, despite the fact that the aforementioned Firewatch got a good reception.

Valva buys the study and it seems that it has been canceled

In April of last year they announced that Campo Santo, the developers of In the Valley of Gods and Firewatch had been bought by nothing more and nothing less than Valve itself. There was a lot of fear about this acquisition but they said that the purchase would not affect the development of the game or Campo Santo.

Now it seems that the honeymoon has not gone very well because it has been seen that both in the social media profiles of Campo Santo workers and on their website there is no longer any mention of In the Valley of Gods. Now they only list that they are workers at Valve and nothing else. A Reddit user verified thanks to the Wayback Machine that the web listed the game that was in development and it is speculated that it has been canceled without releasing an official statement.

What could have happened? Many things could have happened such as that they have seen that the project was not viable or gave them problems, some misunderstanding between the developer and the editor ... It comes to mind that Valve no longer makes games because they already earn a lot with Steam and that is why they will never release Half Life 3 and that he has seen that the development of the game would be very high compared to the profitability that they would get. The workers could have been diverted to other Valve projects but we already know that it is Dota 2, Artifact, Team Fortress 2 and the Half Life for Virtual reality whose existence is an open secret.
