Inno3D iChill GTX 1060 Black with hybrid cooling

The new Inno3D iChill GTX 1060 Black will have a hybrid cooling system and factory overclocking.

Inno3D adds to its product list a new version of the GTX 1060 graphics card. This new Inno3D iChill GTX 1060 Black graphics card is characterized by having a hybrid heatsink, which is an active air cooling block with a hybrid system of liquid refrigeration. The idea is not new, it has been used before in graphics cards and this type of device is used for graphics cards that undergo strong overclocking and has usually been used in top-of-the-range graphics cards.

This new GTX 1060 features a liquid cooling block to improve the heat dissipation of the graphics card. It has its own water pump along with a 120mm radiator with a built-in fan. The graphics card VRAMs, on the other hand, are cooled by an air-cooling block with aluminum fins.

We have commented that these systems are used to further improve the working frequency of the GPU of these graphic cards and in effect, it uses this system for this reason. The iChill GTX 1060 Black has a base frequency of 1.569MHz, while the Boost frequency is 1.784MHz and the GDDR5 memories work at a frequency of 8200GHz.

It is surprising that Inno3D bets on this cooling system for a mid-range card like this one, with the consequent increase in price. We do not know the price, but the normal thing would be that this graphics card is priced at the level of the GTX 1070, although hardly, no matter how much and good overclocking it has, it can offer the same performance of the GTX 1070. We will be attentive to know when it hits the market and what the final price is.
