Intel charges Qualcomm for overcharging for patents

Intel joins Apple's accusations, where both companies claim that Qualcomm would overcharge for their patents, up to five times more than they should.

The world of hardware sometimes has surreal and quite bizarre things. Qualcomm is currently in the middle of several troubles, perhaps the most important is a legal battle against Apple, in this case for requesting higher prices than normal for the use of certain patents. If this were not enough, the company has come up with another enemy, more powerful than Apple, in this case it has been Intel who has attacked Qualcomm directly, since according to Intel, what Qualcomm would be doing are monopoly practices.

Intel has not wanted to miss the opportunity to attack a rival in the processor market and has joined Apple and with the same argument, that Qualcomm charges a higher amount of money than it should for the patents it owns. Of course, the mess is served and Qualcomm has not wanted to let this attack pass and has spoken. Intel and Apple are allied, more or less, to attack Qualcomm and not only these two companies, there would also be more companies that would say the same thing, that Qualcomm makes them pay more than they should, in fact, they argue that they would be charging up to five times more for licenses.

We must emphasize that this aspect is not legal and that logically, they do not like to pay more for things. Intel has asked ITC to conduct an in-depth investigation of the company for evidence. The mobile chip manufacturer has refused to remain silent and has accused Intel of doing the same with certain patents for LTE modems, using these patents illegally. Logically, it is time to make popcorn and let the bombs fall between the two competitors. This may end up with movements of large amounts of money, as always.
