Intel Kaby Lake, AMD Ryzen, AMD RX Vega, Intel Basins Falls ... and the list is very extensive, but here we bring you what has been launched and is expected to hit the market until the end of the year in terms of processors and graphics cards, that is not little, as well as a small summary of what is known about everything that is to come.

The year has started strong in terms of hardware launches. In January, Intel's Kaby Lake processors arrived, along with their corresponding motherboards, the flagship being the i7 7700K. We reviewed it and noted that it ran at excessively high temperatures, and due to the improvements over Skylake, it was a rather uninteresting processor. Ultimately, it became clear that Kaby Lake wasn't particularly successful. In March, the AMD Ryzen 7 processors arrived on the market, highly anticipated processors that, after a somewhat rocky launch, have established themselves as top-tier processors.

This April we saw the arrival of the AMD Ryzen 5, a very interesting solution from AMD that offers great performance. Not only processors were released, but we also saw the launch of the NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition, which arrived on March 10th. A month later, we saw the arrival of custom versions from the various manufacturers that work with NVIDIA (you can read the review of the colossal MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X here ). And surprisingly, last month saw the unveiling of the NVIDIA Titan Xp, a monstrous graphics card.

A lot, if not a lot of high-end hardware, but there is more. Yes, the year aims to be busy in terms of hardware. The next thing that should arrive is AMD RX Vega, which has been confirmed for this same quarter and there are less than two months left to finish. There are no specific dates, but everything indicates that they will be presented or presented and launched between May 30 and June 3, which is when Computex is held in Taipei. It would just coincide, if so, with the date of presentation of the Intel Basins Falls.

The Intel Basins Falls are the Intel HEDT processors based on the Kaby Lake-X and Skylake-X architecture. About these processors we know that they will have a new socket, the LGA 2066 and the Intel X299 chipset, they will not have integrated graphics and that the Kaby Lake-X will have a maximum of four cores and eight threads and according to what is being said the Skylake-X will go from the six cores and twelve threads up to the twelve cores and twenty-four threads. Logically we will need new motherboards. To compete with these processors, AMD would jump into the pool with its own Ryzen-based AMD HEDT processors.

These do not have the slightest official confirmation and are more of a rumor. It is rumored that these processors could have an AMD AM4 socket, just like the current AMD Ryzen, although it is a speculation. There is also talk that the chipset would be the AMD X399, although nothing is known in this regard. Rumors suggest that these processors could have between eight cores and sixteen threads (like the current AMD Ryzen 7) and that they could reach sixteen cores and thirty-two processing threads, a real madness.

Intel Coffee Lake and AMD Ryzen 3 may coincide in time. Intel anticipates the launch of Intel Coffee Lake, which could arrive in September / October of this year, although there is no official confirmation in this regard. These new processors will use the Z370 chipset, they are a rehash of the Kaby Lake, which in turn, the latter, are a rehash of the Skylake. These processors would provide between a 5-15% improvement with respect to the current processors and will have the LGA 1151 socket, therefore, the Kaby Lake and Skylake motherboards can be used without problems, just by updating BIOS, but there will be motherboards specific to these processors.

Coffee Lake is expected to coincide with AMD Ryzen 3, the low-end AMD Ryzen processor. These new processors will have four cores and eight threads and four cores and four threads, being economical solutions for entry-level gaming. Something is known about these processors, such as the TDP that will be less than 65W, they will be very affordable processors and some other frequency, but without any confirmation. According to Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, these will arrive in the first months of the second half of the year, which means that they would arrive between July and September, possibly in September, to avoid catching the summer, a time where people are to other things .

If you've made it this far, keep going, because we're not done even as a joke. Between October and December, the NVIDIA Volta is scheduled to arrive. These new graphics cards designed by and for gaming will arrive earlier than planned and everything would indicate that they would arrive in November, at least the Founders Edition and already in December those customized by each manufacturer. We know that NVIDIA is already producing them, but about frequencies, characteristics and benefits it is a complete mystery. The normal thing is that they do a great presentation event.

There is more, relax. November or December would be the date chosen by AMD to launch the Raven Ridge APUs, which are designed for laptops and will arrive together with Vega GPUs for laptops. Ryzen-based Raven Ridge APUs are speculated to arrive with integrated graphics based on the Vega architecture, although this is unconfirmed. They will arrive with Vega graphics cards for laptops, thinking about gaming laptops, without a doubt.

We're finishing up now, promised. Intel still has us a surprise. It will be in December or January when the new Intel Cannon Lake processors arrive, the first with 10nm architecture for the gaming market. On these processors we have practically nothing, but everything indicates that if Coffee Lake will have at most a six-core processor, Intel could choose to launch a processor with up to eight cores, leaving the four cores and eight threads for the Intel i5 and the Intel i3s would become four cores and four threads.
