Intel doesn't want the Core i7 6700K and Core i7 7700K to sit on store shelves and give away two games to those who buy one of these processors.

The last few weeks we have harshly criticized Intel's marketing drift, renaming the Pentiums Pentium Gold from the Kaby Lake family and opacity with Boost 2.0 and Boost 3.0. Right now Intel is with Coffee Lake processors, of which there is very limited stock and will continue to do so until the end of this year. The problem is that stores can eat Kaby Lake and Skylake processors, because they are not compatible with Coffee Lake motherboards.

Intel wants all the processors that the stores have to be sold and for that reason, it proposes a strategy for the Core i7 7700K and the Core i7 6700K to be sold. It is not a tacit price reduction, it is simply the gift of games with these processors. Those who buy one of the two mentioned processors, will have Total War: Warhammer II and Assassins Creed: Origins as a gift, which are equivalent to about € 100. For some, this offer will not be interesting, because these games do not interest them at all or because a Core i5 8400, with less price and six cores and six processing threads, is a better solution, since it provides two extra cores.

Strategy that on the one hand is interesting, but on the other hand it becomes quite irrelevant and shows that Intel is lurching, depending on the day and the foot with which the company's marketers get up. It would be, without a doubt, a discount of € 100 directly, to be able to invest it in the RAM, which has a highly ridiculous and prohibitive price, which forces users to cut back on other components.
