Intel delays Cannon Lake due to problems with the iGPU of these

Intel again delays the Cannon Lake 10nm processors, due to serious problems with the iGPUs of these processors, which would not be operational due to development problems.

This week, a new delay of Intel Cannon Lake processors, the first of the company developed in 10nm, was announced. Initially it was thought that the problem was related to the 10nm manufacturing process, which has given Intel many problems, but is now finalized. The problem, to delay these processors again, seems to be that it has to do with the integrated graphics, which are not yet ready to reach the market and is that it would lack optimization or solve some problems.

The data indicates that Intel has a limited number of Cannon Lake processors ready, which will arrive next year, in the first instance models will arrive without integrated graphics and by the end of 2018 the models with integrated graphics will arrive. This is causing some manufacturers to move from launching Cannon Lake processors to Ice Lake processors. The Ice Lake will come out a few months after the Cannon Lake with integrated graphics, unless finally Intel delays these processors.

Then there is the market for laptops, who do expect these processors, which they hope will be for video game fans and professionals, an interesting solution and choose to upgrade their equipment to Cannon Lake, as they improve in a 25% performance and consumption is reduced by 45%. Intel would already have a great demand for Cannon Lake processors by laptop developers, but the delay would cause manufacturers to move from these processors and give a greater role to Coffee Lake. We do not know if this kind of threat will ultimately be fulfilled.
