Germany has suffered the largest hack in history in which personal data of politicians is exposed

A hacker or group of hackers have attacked Germany's institutions, stealing personal data from politicians and spreading it on social media.

Last 2018 was quite problematic in the field of computer security at all levels. Vulnerabilities, malware, security breaches and a long list that began on January 2 with Specter and Meltdown. It seems that 2019 does not want to be left behind, although it has started a little later. Today it is known that Germany has suffered the largest hack in history. The security breach is huge and unprecedented.

German has suffered a historical hack

The identity of the attacker is unknown, but on his Twitter account he defines himself as a "cybersecurity researcher, artist and satyr." On his Twitter account, he has also published documentation and personal data about hundreds of German politicians. There is a curious fact in all this and that is that all the parties with the exception of the extreme right Alternative for Germany, have been splashed.

It appears that the attacker has had access to everything, to the phone numbers of politicians and postal addresses. He also would have had access to internal documentation of the parties, bank documentation and sensitive information about his family nucleus. RBB also reports that the data began to be disseminated on social networks before Christmas, but until Thursday night no one found out.

Apparently as soon as the attack took place, the parties and politicians were informed. Bild reports that in addition to Bundestag deputies and regional parliamentarians, politicians of all kinds are affected, German President Fran Walter Steinmeier has been affected. In addition, artists, journalists from public television and even NGO representatives have been affected.

The Federal Office of the Constitution since Thursday has taken up the case. Right now there is an exchange of information with foreign secret services. Nothing is known about the origin of the attack.
