Coca Cola launches bottles with labels with OLED screens

Flexible screens are surely not something unknown to you bulls. We have all seen the disaster of Samsung Galaxy Fold, a resounding failure of the 'first' folding smartphone. Flexible OLED screens are still far from normal, but they are beginning to spread and become popular. So much so that Coca Cola has implemented screens with OLED technology in its soft drinks with Star Wars labels.

This popular soft drink company usually runs some very curious promotions of different elements. We have been able to see models of cans countless times for sporting events, for example. Now they are commemorating the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with the lightsabers working from the labels.

Coca Cola adds OLED technology to its labels

Directly printed mini-batteries have been integrated into the labels and a small OLED screen for the swords. The circuit is open, but when we touch the label with our fingers the circuit closes and the swords are lit. Inuru, the German company in charge of developing the circuit, indicates that it has about 500 uses.

Unfortunately we are going to be left with the desire to have one of these bottles in our hands. This special edition of bottles will only be available in Singapore and there will be only 8000 units. The company will sell them between December 6 and 22, 2020. We can find it in two versions, one with Kylo Ren and the other with Rey.

Coca Cola implements OLED screens to promote the new Star Wars movie

As an advertising campaign it is very well thought out, because with this marketing action they have achieved great impact. Many of us are the ones who echo it and it is a free promotion for Coca Cola, no doubt. It is also a great promotion for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that will premiere on December 19.

What do you think about this curious promotion of Coca Cola?
