Netflix now allows you to remove devices connected to your account

With Netflix being something still in high demand and still being able to share accounts in many territories, it is not uncommon for access to Netflix accounts to be resold and with this the owners see that unwanted devices are connecting because they have leaked your access credentials. It is a huge security problem, and to the joy of many, a form of security has already been implemented in the service. remove connection of unwanted devices from Netflix account.

Netflix has introduced a new account management page called “Manage access and devices” which offers users the ability to remove access privileges from specific devices. The feature is available on the web and on the streaming service's Android and iOS apps.

Previously, users could see a list of devices that had recently accessed their accounts, and they could revoke access to all devices simultaneously. But they couldn't revoke access on a case-by-case basis, and if you wanted to remove a single unwanted access, you had to remove all of them.

Each item in the device list will include a location based on the IP address, a device type, and the user profile that most recently accessed Netflix from that device. The company announced the feature via its blog on Wednesday, and some of the media has mainly focused on its role in helping Netflix fight the effect of consensual password sharing on its bottom line.

The feature goes live shortly before Netflix plans to start charging additional fees to accounts with subaccounts that are primarily used to access the main out-of-home service. While the new access and device management page could be used like this, it's not just about sharing passwords.

Netflix describes it as a security function. This is going to be useful for users who don't share their passwords. For example, now you have a way to clear your account if you've been staying at someone else's house and signed in to your Netflix account on the smart TV there, but forgot to sign out before you left. Also, the page could help you identify if someone has accessed your account through a compromised password.
