Spain offers one of the best internet speeds in Europe

There's a lot of talk about internet speed in Spain and its cost to the customer. The truth is, connection speeds have increased significantly in recent years. A comparative index of internet connection prices and speeds, both upload and download, has been published, and Spain is quite well positioned.

Spain in the TOP 10 of internet connection speeds

The arrival of fiber optics to more and more municipalities in Spain has increased speeds and reduced prices. Additionally, increased competition forces operators to adjust prices to retain customers. But, while the speeds are very good, the prices are higher than other members of the European Union.

Currently Spain occupies the seventh place in this ranking, offering 162Mbps download and 137Mbps upload. The average price of an internet connection in our country is just over 41 euros per month. Despite the good speeds, it is more expensive than that of France, which is around 28 euros and Portugal, which is around 33 euros per month.

Switzerland leads this ranking with the fastest download speed, but also the most expensive, with an average price of over 55 euros. Denmark, which is in second place, offers almost 180Mbps of download for just over 34 euros. The third position is for France, which offers 177Mbps for just over 28 euros per month.

Hungary stands out in fourth position, offering almost 170Mbps for just over 13 euros. But curiously it is not the cheapest price, since in Lithuania we can have 120Mbps for just over 11 euros per month.

It is interesting to see the 5 countries that offer the slowest speeds. We have Australia with 58Mbps of download speed and a price of just over 54 euros. Mexico follows with 42Mbps, Colombia with 40Mbps, Greece with almost 32Mbps and Turkey closes with almost 29Mbps.
