The United States and China close a "major" trade agreement

In recent months we have witnessed an unprecedented trade war between the United States and China. US President Donald Trump has imposed tariffs on Chinese tech products, among others. Huawei has been one of the most affected companies with a huge blockade across the American country. Now Trump announced that they have reached a "great deal with China"

This great agreement between the two nations seems to go through phases, of which we know practically nothing. But it would be the end, possibly, of the tariffs imposed on Chinese imports and some prohibitions. Remember that among the ideas that POTUS had was to prevent US companies from data centers in China.

End of the trade war between the USA and China?

As always Trump has used Twitter to act as president. He has published in his official account that he has closed the negotiation of what he has called “phase one”. He said that the Asian giant agrees to make "many structural changes and massive purchases of agricultural products, energy and manufactured products."

It has also made it clear that all the additional impositions that were to take effect on Sunday, December 15, disappear. This removes new tariffs, although we do not know what happens to the current tariffs. He has also said that the two parties will sit down "immediately" to negotiate "phase two". Within this second round, more agreements should be reached and the absurd trade war ended.

From the Government of Beijing they have said that they agree with what was closed in the "first phase". They have also stressed that the United States will gradually withdraw all tariffs imposed during this trade dispute. As explained by the Vice Minister of Commerce of China, Wang Shouwen.

It seems that a trade war is ending that we do not really know if it has served to improve the interests of the United States or simply those of Donald Trump.
