Facebook does not make 'fake news' or false news disappear from the social network
Despite Facebook's attempts to stop 'fake news' or false news, they continue to roam freely on the social network, rendering the measures taken useless.
The so-called 'fake news' or false news, have become especially strong on Facebook, where it does not disappear. A few months ago the social network announced a battery of measures to combat this type of publication. Although these measures have already started to be implemented, the amount of fake news has not decreased at all, which is becoming a really critical aspect. Fox News, which has a great affinity with Donald Trump, is the most published medium on this social network.
The problem is that users no longer act so much with conventional news information spaces, often finding out through the publications of other users, such as friends and acquaintances, who share them on their walls.
Facebook implemented different modifications in its algorithm, which has caused Fox News to stop being the most popular medium within the social network, but the thing has been temporary. Last April, Fox News was the most popular medium on the social network. The problem with this medium is that it is biased and only publishes information that is positive for the US president, not publishing information that could be compromised.
It is not the only problem, since false news is still present on the social network and they do not have the slightest control. It is quite easy to come across completely false or fabricated news or that offer biased or incomplete information to users. The researchers of the social network are in trouble and are concerned to see that the changes implemented have not the slightest effect. Facebook has not said anything about it, but this scourge does not seem to have an immediate end.
