Instagram has announced that it will bring back the chronological content feed so that users can easily see the most recent posts first and in the order in which they were shared. This feature was abandoned in 2016 in favor of an algorithmically generated feed, which shows the posts they think you might like the most.
This format meant that many times we lost content from accounts to als we continue to advantage of others such as meme accounts or brands that have a greater acceptance and therefore the algorithm believes that they will like us more even if it is not. The algorithmic feed on Instagram will remain an alternative viewing option, possibly with another style that you are experimenting with called Favorites.

This change to the Instagram content feed would take effect next year, according to Adam Mosseri's appearance in the US Senate. But aside from the return of the chronological feed, Instagram is working on introducing several new ways for people to view its content.
It does not mean that the algorithm that recommends posts will be eliminated, but it will most likely stop being the default, or the only option. Twitter tried putting a recommendation-based feed out of the box to find that people preferred the chronological feed, in part to avoid losing content from small accounts like those of friends and family.
Several tests showed that in the end, users who used the recommended feed spent more time in the applications because they found more content according to their interests. but that is the case of the most loyal users, because the more casual users ended up seeing the same publications from the same sources instead of the variety they want.
