Intel: Core-X 10000 Series will offer up to 18 cores and up to 72 PCIe lanes

The upcoming Intel Core-X 10000 Series processors feature up to 18 cores and up to 72 PCIe lanes, plus support for Deep Lerning

Recent reports indicate that TSMC is experiencing higher demand than its production capacity . This has forced AMD to delay its Ryzen Threadripper and Ryzen 9 3950X processors. Intel will take advantage of this situation, more or less. The company will launch its Core-X processors next week, its HEDT line for workstations. These new Core 10000 Series processors bring some interesting new features.

As a big problem, these processors are still based on 14nm lithography. But not everything is bad, since these processors are compatible with the LGA 2066 socket motherboards and X299 chipset. What's more, Gigabyte has already announced a BIOS for its motherboards that offers support for these new processors.

Intel to launch the Core-X 10000 Series next week

The company will launch as the top of the range the Core i9-10980XE with 18 cores and 36 threads working at 3.0GHz and that in all cores will reach 3.8GHz. It has a TDP of 165W and will be priced at $ 979.

We have below the Core i9-10940X with 14 cores and 28 threads working at 3.3GHz and in all cores it will reach 4.1GHz. This one has a TDP of 165W and is priced at $ 748. Below it will be the Core i9-10920X with 12 cores and 24 threads working at 3.5GHz and arriving in Boost mode at 4.3GHz. Its TDP is also 165W and its price is $ 689. Finally we have the Core i9-10900X with 10 cores and 20 threads working at 3.7GHz and arriving in Boost mode at 4.3GHz. Its TDP is also 165W and it will cost $ 590.

We have stayed with the Boost frequencies in all the cores, since they also have Boost 2.0 and Boost 3.0. All models will have up to 72 PCIe 3.0 lanes, we assume that it will depend on the motherboard. They have the four processors with support for DDR4 @ 2933MHz and a maximum of 256GB.

Additionally, these processors support overclocking and Thunderbolt 3. It has Intel Ethernet 2.5G connectivity through the Controller i225 and also for WiFi 6 AX200. In addition, Intel Performance Maximizer and Deep Learning Boost technologies have been integrated.
