Microsoft will close Mixer in a month to integrate it into Facebook Gaming
A few months ago, it was announced that Ninja, one of YouTube's biggest streamers, was going exclusively to Mixer. Well, after that multi-million dollar move and after investing tens of millions of dollars, Microsoft has announced the closure of Mixer. The company has indicated that it will shut down on July 22nd and move all current partners to Facebook Gaming.
After this announcement, all streamers with exclusive contracts will have the freedom to move to the platform they want. In the end Microsoft has not been able to compete with Twitch and neither with Facebook Gaming. After four years, spending a lot of money to buy Beam, redesign the brand and turn it into Mixer, in the end, the thing has come to nothing.

To make the transition much more comfortable, Microsoft has reached an agreement with Facebook to move the big names. This way, all the important Mixer streamers will go to the Facebook Gaming platform. Streamers can opt for Facebook Gaming or the platform that interests them the most. On the other hand, advertisers will go to the Facebook platform.
Mixer's doors will close on July 22nd, all Mixer pages and apps will move to Facebook Gaming. Those Mixer users who have balance, credits or purchases on the platform, will be exchanged for Xbox gift vouchers.
The Verge indicates that this is a strategic decision for the integration of the xCloud service within Facebook Gaming. It will allow viewers to access the same games as the platform streamer.
When we think about xCloud and the opportunity to unlock the game for 2 billion players, we know that it will be very important that our services find large audiences and Facebook clearly gives us that opportunity.
Phil Spencer has indicated to The Verge.
