Netflix prepares a cheaper weekly subscription

Netflix wants to adapt to new consumer habits, offering one less payment for its service for a week, even though it is proportionally more expensive for consumers than a monthly subscription.

Netflix is finding itself in a peculiar situation: it doesn't always have content for the whole month. It is true that the number of movies and series, especially Netflix originals, is high, but this does not mean that it will satisfy all users who are looking for specific series and do not always need some background noise or those who only want series in specific to do a marathon on a weekend that they have gotten free.

In the same way that for many not every day you can be watching series all the time and not every week is the same, Netflix has announced a series of new rates, which unlike the monthly plans, these rates are for using the service one week. You would still have access to the entire catalog, but it would be for a shorter period of time and with a somewhat cheaper price, but only if we want a week to see all the content and the rest of the month we don't want to see anything.

Netflix's weekly plans are on the way

Based on the filtered prices, we could have three weekly rates.

  • One user per 2,49 Euros
  • Two users per 2,99 Euros
  • Four users per 3,99 Euros

As you can see, they are more affordable prices for certain Netflix consumers. If we only have one free week or we want exactly one weekend with friends to see the news of the platform that interests us the most, we can hire one of these plans so that we can get a cheaper way to catch up.

Of course, if we want content all month long, it is still better to hire a monthly plan because it ends up being cheaper in the long run. These plans are to satisfy more sporadic consumers who do not want to be paying more time than necessary, despite the fact that three weeks already costs almost the same as a month. Those types of people who are not always watching the platform or those who have some doubts will be able to get an idea of Netflix content in a cheaper way. Of course, there is no date of when they will arrive in Spain.
