Nest WiFi, Google's Wifi solution

Google renames its router to Nest WiFi, keeping its idea of mesh WiFi. It will allow you to intelligently control access to the Internet connection.

Google begins to offer a way to extend our Internet and the range of our voice at the same time. This is the newly announced Nest Wifi mesh router system.

Just announced at the Googoe hardware event, the NEst WiFi pack of two is now comprised of a new router and similarly shaped hotspot that now extends its coverage 25 percent more than the previous generation, which Google claims is sufficient. for a house of 350 square meters. However, only the hotspot has a built-in Google Assistant smart speaker.

The two-pack costs $ 269, and there's a three-pack for $ 349. Orders are picked up today and will ship available on November 4.

A better way to manage WiFi

Google didn't mention whether Nest WiFi supports the new Wi-Fi 6 standard. The company claims that these new routers are twice as fast as the previous generation. They will also have Bluetooth low energy and support for the Thread smart home protocol, which has long been in development but has yet to take off, and which rival Eero has been pursuing for a long time as well, although Google says that Thread's capabilities they will not arrive until 2020.

Google says you can also use the Assistant to control your Wi-Fi network. It'll be as easy as saying "Hey Google, pause Wi-Fi for Daniel" to get your child's attention. It remains to be seen whether it's that simple and actually works.

Google first introduced its Google Wifi system, now Nest WiFi. Three years ago at $ 299 for a pack of three. Thus mesh routers have become a popular way of eliminating Wi-Fi dead zones in a home, and all major router companies offer a similar package. Google says its Wifi has been the best-selling router in the United States and Canada. It is understandable since they sell it directly and easily for consumers.
