YouTube begins to delete videos of ethical hacking and security of WiFi networks

Once again, YouTube's policies in question as it begins to put strikes and delete videos about ethical hacking and security in WiFi networks.

The dangerous and harmful content policies on YouTube have recently changed. There was even a lot of dust when the platform closed the YouTube channel of the fascist and homophobic politician, Vox. It appears that the platform has blacklisted training videos on phishing and hacking. This material will be blacklisted by the platform and will be considered not allowed.

We must remember that more than a year ago they deleted a video of how to check the security of a WiFi network. That meant that for three months we could not do live broadcasts. Despite claiming and explaining that it was not taught to attack networks, we still await a response from the platform.

YouTube now goes for the videos on phishing and hacking

A change that occurred on April 5, 2019, but has not been effective until now. This policy is already affecting channels focused on network security and user protection. They emphasize that they do not know why they are being persecuted and what are the alleged infractions they commit.

Within the policies of the platform you can read: "Instructions to impersonate an identity or hack: it is content in which users are taught to circumvent computer security systems or steal personal data and credentials." There is no clear example and the description is extremely vague and fuzzy.

Concern among security researchers and disseminators

Kody Kinzie, a cybersecurity researcher, has already expressed his concern about YouTube's policies on Twitter. Especially after suffering a strike on his Null Byte channel. The video for which he has been penalized is for one about one that talks about hacking of WiFi networks and the WPS-Pixie vulnerability. YouTube also prevents you from uploading videos, something they discovered after trying to upload a new video.

Null Byte is a very important channel in the field of computer security. They report on ethical hacking, computer science and computer security. They have more than 250 subscribers. In addition, three other videos about WiFi hacking have been flagged, violating content policies.

Google and its policies that work from time to time

The policy of YouTube and therefore of Google, is that, if you have a 'small' channel, you must respect the policies. If you have millions of subscribers, you can do whatever you want. We only have to see the cases of ReSeT or Dalas, who do what they want without problems. Even Dalas's channel was shut down a long time ago for a couple of uploaded videos, although it was eventually returned to him.
