Kim Dotcom returns with Bitcache and K.im, based on micropayments with Bitcoin

Kim Dotcom returns to the load, with the K.im platform to upload multimedia content and receive payments for its reproduction and Bitcache, a micropayment system based on Bitcoin, which will be tested by YouTubers with at least half a million subscribers

The creator of Megaupload, which was shut down some ago by the FBI and the CIA, returns to the load Kim Dotcom, later launched Mega. The developer's new project is Bitcache, a bitcoin-based micropayment system for MegaUpload 2, but this platform will be a beta version solution for the most popular YouTubers for now. That's what Dotcom has said on Twitter, the social network used by all the important people to communicate and share data. It has been in this social network, where it has also announced the availability next week, the initial version of K.im (MegaUpload 2), which at the moment can only be accessed by invitation. Soon the ICO will also be launched to get funds and complete your platform.

The Bitcache platform has been offered to YouTubers who have at least half a million subscribers, who must send a request to Kim Dotcom to be able to use this protocol, which would allow the monetization of the content. The integration is based on a donation button within the videos, through which the subscribers themselves can send micro-payments as a reward or donation to the content creators. Not much is known, but this system would be possible thanks to the Lightning Network. The launch, postponed several times, is no coincidence, since it coincides with the activation of SegWit within the Bitcoin network, which allows LN channels to function correctly. This would also be the first massive use of the Lightning micropayment platform.

Regarding K.im, we must emphasize that it is a platform to upload multimedia content and set a price for its reproduction, as the user considers, for the user who wants to reproduce it, which will be paid in dollars, but that will be given to the creator of the content through Bitcoin through Bitcache, which will act as a kind of wallet. There has been talk of this platform since April, although it is not known when this platform will be available.

Regarding the ICO, there are no specific details about it, so it seems that Dotcom would be waiting for the tests of the K.im and Bitcache platform to start, before launching any official announcement about it. The MegaUpload 2 platform managed to raise an online investment through BnkToTheFuture, raised about € 900.000 only in Bitcoin, although the goal was to reach 4 million euros. The next ICO wants that same figure to finish the development of K.im and Bitcache, which has ensured that it will be 'massive'.

  1. Very bad handling of Kim Dotcom for my taste, bringing the cancer of the youtubers to his new platform seems horrible to me, but everyone sees it as they want.
