Announced by Kingston the new Kingston UV500 drives, new SSD drives in 2.5 ”, M.2 2280 and mSATA format, intended for all audiences, with great performance and very good prices.

Today we have been commenting that the price of SSDs can be reduced in the coming weeks, because there are more NAND memories that demand them. This coincides with the announcement by Kingston of the launch of the new Kingston UV500 SSD units, which make use of 3D NAND memories and are focused on all audiences, since these solutions are very competitive in four at price and offer a very good performance.

These new Kingston UV500 drives will arrive in the three most typical formats: 2.5 ”, M.2 2280 and mSATA. All these units, regardless of the format, will use the Marvell 88SS1074 controller, which will be in charge of controlling and managing the 3D NAND memories, something that offers excellent performance, while controlling manufacturing costs. Its working speeds can be up to ten times those of a mechanical hard disk.

Kingston wants to offer the highest quality and performance, for this very reason these units have support for 256-bit AES data encryption through hardware, so we will have maximum security without affecting the performance of the unit.

Regarding the capacities, these will come in sizes of 120GB, 240GB, 480GB, 960GB and 1920GB. Regarding performance, it will offer a read of up to 520MB / s, while the write will be 500MB / s, while in 4K random read it will be 79.000IOPS and in 4K random write it will be 45.000IOPS. Excellent performance, without a doubt for these units.

Consumption has also been adjusted, since in writing it will barely pass 2.3W and reading will barely reach 1.2W. There is no data on the price and availability of these units, but it is certain that they will be as sold and well valued as the current UV400.
