The ASUS Maximus VI Hero socket AM4 for AMD Ryzen would be compatible with heatsinks for socket AM3 +

A new image of the ASUS motherboard intended for AMD Ryzen processors with socket AM4, shows that it would be compatible with the coolers used with the socket AM3 +.

During the last days we have seen a large number of motherboards of different brands, for AMD Ryzen processors. In addition to motherboards, we have not seen a new cooler, but free adapters have been announced for users who register them in most cases and can also be purchased, according to the manufacturer. ASUS has shown a little more the Maximus VI Hero, a high-end motherboard, which could present problems for certain heatsinks.

The ASUS motherboard with the X370 chipset, which allows overclocking and multi-GPU configurations, for this Maximus VI Hero motherboard, where you can see some mounting holes near the heatsink as a solution for mounting the processor in the AM4 socket, which apparently They should also line up well with the heatsinks for the AM3 + processor. These holes will allow this motherboard to support AM3 + heatsinks, therefore apparently it is compatible with coolers used for AM3 + processors.

We do not know all the characteristics of ASUS motherboards, but apparently it would have a configuration quite similar to the motherboard presented for the Intel Kaby Lake with Z270 chipset. That the motherboard is compatible with 'old' coolers, for motherboards with AMD AM3 + socket, is very interesting, especially if we do not need complementary connectors.
