Job creation thanks to AI

The current shortage of AI experts means that large companies offer 6-figure salaries to those with the appropriate skills for their development.

The situation is so serious that companies like Google are building AI's that build AI. In fact, Google's artificial intelligence is now better at building AI than its own programmers. According to a report in the New York Times, typical AI specialists can receive salaries of $ 300,000 to $ 500,000 a year or more. This applies to both newly graduated developers out of college and professionals with less curriculum and with only a few years of experience, since for these companies anyone who is familiar with AI programming is a potential employee, and they can always shape and mold it according to their own working models.

In this way, and strangely enough, artificial intelligence is creating jobs instead of destroying them. Average salaries for Google's DeepMind staff in the UK amounted to $ 345,000 per employee. With more than 400 people employed there, Google's total cost to staff at the facility is around $ 138 million. The rewards for those higher up the chain are even greater. Anthony Levandowski, a former lead artificial intelligence engineer at Google's auto automotive research, made about $ 120 million. He has since moved to Uber, where Google is now suing him for allegedly sharing trade secrets.

We all know that most companies like to pay their employees as little as possible, so they will look for ways to take advantage of AI without continuing to pay such large sums. LinkedIn, for example, has announced that they are training all of their engineers in basic artificial intelligence skills. With all the data in hand, it is worth the effort, since a developer specialized in AI, will be able to earn, on average, about 4 times more than a professional specialized in any other field and will also be contributing to create jobs for other colleagues who want to get to this specialty.
