The Smach Z will finally be based on the Raven Ridge APUs, which integrate AMD Ryzen processors and RX Vega graphics.

Smach Z, the ideal portable console for gaming, returns to the load and will be based, finally, on an AMD Raven Ridge APU, with four AMD Ryzen cores and RX Vega graphics.

The AMD Ryzen processors have dealt a serious blow to Intel and the Raven Ridge APUs, which have just hit the market, are going down the same path, especially for the entry gaming market, since Intel's integrated graphics are lamentable and Vega graphics on which the new AMD APUs are based, give them a brutal advantage. These APUs have been integrated into the Smach Z console, a portable console, which has already been talked about a lot and with this processor, it will be a really brutal console.

Initially, this project started in Kickstarter in 2016, but it was canceled, to come back again some time later. The idea was to integrate an AMD Falcon processor, with a 1080p screen and the controls would be based on the Steam Controller. It seems that now they have updated the heart of the console again, using in this case the Ryzen V1000 processor, which is based on the Raven Ridge. Performance is guaranteed with the Zen cores and the graphics power is provided by the AMD Vega.

It has been specified that the Ryzen V1605B processor will be used, which is based on four Zen cores and eight processing threads. The processor is paired with the Vega 8 GPU, which offers 512 Shaders Processors and all this with a 15W TDP, which is very good. High efficiency will give us a console that has great durability over time (the battery, of course) and excellent performance.

Additionally, 8Gb of DDR4-2133 RAM has been integrated and 128GB of solid state storage has been integrated for the Smach Z Pro. We will have a simpler version of the Smach Z, which will integrate 4GB of RAM and 64GB solid state storage. The Pro model will have a 5Mpx camera, while the simple model will have no camera. For the rest they share connectivity, USB-C, USB-A, DisplayPort and minijack ports and we can have it with Windows 10 or Linux, according to consumer tastes.
