AMD RX Vega 64s would not mine as well as originally said

It is leaked that AMD RX Vega 64 graphics cards would not perform as well as originally claimed, not approaching 100MH / s or as a joke, TweakTown commented on Facebook.

Problems start to appear even before the release of the AMD RX Vega. What we know for sure is that these graphics cards will perform similarly to NVIDIA's GTX 1080s and the price will also be quite similar, with AMD's benchmark models. Everything indicates that the Vega will have a very high consumption, as Gigabyte has shown, recommending at least a 750W power supply, but the last thing is that it would not perform as well as expected for cryptocurrency mining.

TweakTown a few days ago leaked information that said that these Vega 64s would be around 70-100MH / s for mining, but they have commented on their Facebook account that such mining power will not be a reality. They have uploaded a capture of an RX Vega being tested in ClaymoreAMD and apparently after the test they have seen that 100MH / s nothing at all. From this means they assure that the version with Liquid cooling does not even jokingly reach that mining power, therefore, the mining power will be much lower than what has been said in the first instance.

This is a new stone in AMD's shoe. Although, with that of 50MH / s, this will fly off the shelves, this is a reality and is that the target audience, with the performance seen, is the mining one. Now it only remains that these graphics cards do not reach the market in limited quantities, as happened with the AMD RX 400 Series and it is expected that by the end of September the different models customized by each of the manufacturers will arrive.

  1. It is logical, being practically the same architecture as polaris, it was not going to give triple the performance with only double the hardware, the logical thing is that it mine twice as fast and giving thanks, for the limitations of the hbm.

    1. "Being practically the same architecture as Polaris", you're freaking out xD. By that rule, Intel has maintained "practically" the same architecture since the second-third generation.

      1. Make no mistake about it, see if you think Intel releases new architecture every year. XD
Vega is based on GCN5 which is an evolution of the previous ones.

      2. Indeed, they speed up the caches and lower the manufacturing process and palante.
Look at what a fury x yields at the mhz of this valley and you will see that it is almost traced.

    1. AMD fans are like Linux fans, as long as they criticize Intel and Nvidia (competitors) the site is objective and impartial, but if criticized AMD it is an anti-AMD site.

AMD did something good with the Ryzen after 4 years of pure crap, although their previous processors were not a wonder like the FX, the Phenom II, the Phenom or the Athlon 64 X2 until they reached the other great product of AMD the Athlon FX Well, it was a lot of bad products for some good ones.

The Radeon Vega are another crap, although some do not want to accept it, it is obvious because Nvidia has almost 64% of the market share on Steam and Intel has 80%, a good product does not change everything bad about a company.

    2. No idea colleague, but everyone says it, for something will be. You only have to see old news and some new news to realize that they throw shit at AMD and speak badly of their products. Maybe 10 times, 2 speak well.

    3. As DOOM says, they are very objective and give a good argument without throwing sand in the posts, now it turns out that no one can criticize AMD because their FANBOYS come out to justify something unjustifiable, that is why AMD keeps screwing its users with each generation 😉 ..

  2. I think neither an Intel fanatic nor an AMD fan is good, but this site brings out a great super critical article about AMD that also brings out a nonsensical critical article with the green shirt on the purest political style.
AMD has done and is doing very good things as well as continuing to make mistakes in the past, but to say that they are doing something well does not have to say that it is close to envy, much less in fact I think it is still very far but In many respects they are bringing very interesting products to the market with a very good value for money.
Leaving the t-shirts to make articles, the competition between brands is good, we consumers are winning.
