AMD Ryzen Raven Ridge APUs are not compatible with the Windows 7 operating system, due, according to ASRock, to a special power management design, which would be the source of the problem.
Microsoft has stopped supporting the new processors for Windows 7, well, specifically this happened in 2016, so the processors after this year may not work, that depends on the manufacturers. It is true that Microsoft allows you to install Windows 10 for free, so there are not many possible excuses in this field. The first processors not compatible with Windows 7 are a reality, specifically AMD has decided that the AMD Ryzen Raven Ridge APUs do not have support for this operating system.
This means that a new Ryzen APU won't boot if the computer is running Windows 7. It would be rather pointless to install a new APU with such an outdated operating system. The folks at PC Games Hardware tried to boot the Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G in a computer with Windows 7 installed, and the result was that the computer wouldn't boot, displaying the infamous blue screen of death.
For the tests, ASRock and Gigabyte motherboards have been used, and in both cases the same thing happens, it does not start with Windows 7. According to the ASRock support team, the problem is due to the fact that the Raven Ridge have a special function for managing energy, which would be the source of the problem. They comment that without the proper driver, the system cannot be started.
Everything indicates that the Ryzen 2000 Series would not be compatible with Windows 7, unless AMD makes some modification along the way. The reality is that buying a new system and installing Windows 7 already makes little sense, since little by little the different software will lose compatibility, although it is true that it is still widely used, especially in the gaming segment.

sad about this news especially because Windows 10 is a complete piece of crap since I have not been able to get this system to work well on any of the computers I have had, not even my old computer with an i7 2600 + 8gb ddr3 and my current computer an A8 9600 3.4Ghz 4GB DDR4, on both the same thing has happened to me, the system goes downhill and the disk and memory usage are always at 2% use, the start menu takes forever to open and if I want to restart the system it takes 100 minutes to do so
