Finally, the new APUs will be the Bristol Ridge with Excavator processor and Radeon R5 and R7 graphics and not the Raven Ridge with Zen cores, like the Ryzen and Vega graphics.

Not only today have the data of the Ryzen 3 been given and some benchmarks of these processors have appeared, four AMD Athlon X4 processors and seven Bristol Ridge APUs have also been confirmed, which will be compatible with all motherboards on the market, due to which are socket AM4, just like AMD Ryzen processors, but with a difference and that is that contrary to what we initially thought, these APUs are based on Excavator with the 28nm manufacturing process and not on the Zen cores, on the which are based on AMD Ryzen.

We are facing the 7th Generation of A Series family processors, where we can find the Athlon X4 processors, very cheap processors without integrated graphics, which will be two and four cores and we also have the AMD A6, A8, A9 and A12 APUs, which will have between two and four cores and more powerful graphics, depending on the higher the model. These are some simple solutions, for multimedia equipment, since they will integrate Radeon R7 Graphics and not Vega as originally thought. Logically these are not the expected Raven Ridge, they are a previous solution, of which we had no previous data.

Logically, our previous post talking about these APUs as Raven Ridge is altered with this data. We do not know the reason for the arrival of these APUs to the market, since we did know AMD's intention to launch APUs based on Zen cores such as Ryzen and with Vega graphics. On these APUs we do not have any performance data and they are economic solutions, for a very basic casual gaming and especially multimedia. What is most striking are the integrated Radeon R7 / R5 graphics and not Polaris.
