There is an official date for the launch of the ASRock Phantom Gaming, the graphics cards based on the AMD RX 500 Series, destined to mining cryptocurrencies, although disguised with the gaming band.
The controversy over graphics cards and cryptocurrency mining is still very hot, especially since prices have not yet returned to the way they were before the umpteenth interest of people in cryptocurrency mining. To put a little more fuel on the fire, ASRock launches the ASRock Phantom Gaming, based on the AMD RX 500 Series family, which are intended, not for the gaming market, but for the cryptocurrency market, although they have been camouflaged such as gaming graphics cards.
These graphics cards will hit the market coinciding with the arrival of the AMD Ryzen 2 to the market, which is none other than April 19. Initially, the RX 580 and RX 570 of this family will be put on 'sale'. We put the quotes for sale, because we will see if they reach the general market or go in containers to cryptocurrency mining farms.
ASRock has passed the Vega olympically, because they are a problem in every way, among others, the stock of GPUs for manufacturers, so they have opted directly for Polaris and out of trouble. These graphics cards will come with three working systems: the 'silent' mode, to reduce consumption and noise, the standard mode and the 'OC' mode, which is nothing more than activating the Boost mode.
The Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 580 8G will hit 1324MHz in silent mode, 1380MHz in normal mode and 1435MHz in OC mode. The Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 570 8G will work at 1228MHz in silent mode, at 1331MHz in OC mode, without specifying the working frequency in normal operating mode. These three graphics cards will have three DisplayPort, one HDMI, and one DVI. No pricing is known.
