Lenovo has unveiled the new virtual reality glasses, compatible with Windows 10 and supported by Microsoft.
All the major brands in the technology sector are working against the clock to offer virtual reality products with a price that is competitive with the rest of the solutions on the market. Lenovo has been working with Microsoft to develop a virtual reality system under the Windows 10 operating system and not only the Holo Lens. During this year, we expect the arrival of more virtual reality glasses with a cheaper price than the exorbitant € 3500 that the Holo Lens cost.
Lenovo will show these new virtual reality glasses at CES 2017 that is about to start, where we can see these new virtual reality glasses more widely. These Lenovo VR will arrive with an effective resolution of 2880 × 1440 pixels, this being 1440 × 1440 pixels per eye, which is a resolution that the HTC Vive, the Oculus Rift or the Samsung Gear VR. These VR glasses will have a front camera with motion sensors to improve the precision of the system and will also have a price of less than € 400.
We do not know anything more about these virtual reality glasses, but it is logical to think that during CES 2017 all the specifications will be given. There is no talk about connectivity to the computer, but the logical thing would be that it was by DisplayPort. The system is quite simple and much simpler and more compact than the HTC Vive or the Oculus Rift, but it will be necessary to see the quality of the screen and if it really works well with sudden movements of the head. That it is compatible with Windows 10, is a very important factor, since it allows greater compatibility and facilities in terms of Plug and Play connection.
