Updated drivers for AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 18.2.3, bring support for the Brass Tactics and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age games, and especially for the Sea of Thives, which receives significant performance improvements.
New driver update, in this case regarding the ADM graphics drivers, which bring important improvements to the performance of various games. The new AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 18.2.3 drivers bring with them above all support for three games, such as Sea of Thives, Brass Tactics and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. As usual, with this new driver update a few bugs, which have been reported by users, are corrected with respect to the previous drivers.
AMD has implemented support for the aforementioned games, but especially extra support is offered for the title Sea of Thives. This game greatly improves its performance on different Radeon products. Specifically, a 29% improvement is achieved with an RX Vega 64 and up to a 39% improvement is achieved with an RX 580. Surely those who have these solutions installed will be delighted with these improvements.
The other improvements in this driver primarily address significant issues, such as the forced closure of popular titles like Fortnite, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and For Honor. Additionally, some FreeSync compatibility problems have been fixed. The remaining issues addressed by these drivers are as follows:
- Possible random system hang after long periods of use a using 12 GPUs for compute workloads.
- Water textures can crash in World of Final Fantasy.
- Destiny 2 may experience an app hang on the "Heist" mission.
- Radeon Overlay may not turn on intermittently.
- The Radeon Chill hotkey may not reset when the Radeon settings are reset to their default values.
- The FFmpeg application may experience corrupted output in H264.
