AMD Ryzen 2 processors will be presented next March

Finally, the AMD Ryzen 2 processors will arrive in the month of March or at least, it will be when they will be presented, while the Raven Ridge APUs will arrive before the market and possibly be seen at CES 2018.

We are just days away from CES 2018 in Las Vegas and we are in a whirlwind caused by a vulnerability, in every processor on the market, that almost makes us forget Las Vegas. While the event arrives and we continue with information about the vulnerability, the market does not stop and has leaked when the next AMD Ryzen processors will arrive, the so-called Pinnacle Ridge, which are the 2nd Generation Ryzen and that were known to arrive in the first quarter this year, but not when, although now it has been revealed that Ryzen 2 will arrive in the month of March.

It should be noted that Pinnacle Ridge will make use of the AM4 socket, which will be used by all AMD processors until 2020, according to the company itself. These new processors will be accompanied by new 400 Series chipsets, but will be compatible with older chipsets. Specifically, the X470 and B450 chipsets have been revealed, offering certain improvements in terms of performance.

Prior to this launch, the Raven Ridge APUs will arrive, which are based on Zen cores, such as Ryzen processors and AMD RX Vega graphics, designed for laptops, embedded equipment and entry-level, low-cost gaming equipment. It is very possible that these APUs will be seen at CES 2018, either properly or, on laptops or others.

The Ryzen 2 are characterized by being an improved processor with respect to the first Ryzen and are not based on Zen 2, the manufacturing node is simply reduced to 12nm, which will mean a jump in performance with a reduction in consumption. It is expected that this reduction in the nodes allows to improve the working frequency of these processors and also allow more overclocking. On XFR, it will work correctly in these processors there is no data.

  1. As things are going lately with the issue of vulnerabilities, I think they should pay more attention to chip security and energy efficiency rather than gross power ...
