The imminent arrival of AMD Ryzen 3 processors is confirmed, costing $ 129 for the Ryzen 3 1300X and $ 109 for the Ryzen 3 1200, both with four cores and four threads.
After a long time of waiting, the AMD Ryzen 3 processors arrive officially. These are the simplest processors in the Ryzen family and they come to compete with the entry-level Intel processors. We are talking specifically about two SKUs, which have four cores and four processing threads and which allow overclocking, like all Ryzen processors that have reached the market, since the support for overclocking is established by the chipset, only supported with the X370 and B350 chipset.
The first of these two processors is the Ryzen 3 1300X, with XFR technology, which we already know does not work correctly or as it would have been designed by AMD in the first instance. This processor works at a base frequency of 3.5GHz and has a Boost mode, which works at 3.7GHz. On the other hand, we have the Ryzen 3 1200 processor, a slightly less powerful processor, which works at a base frequency of 3.1GHz and allows to reach 3.4GHz in Boost mode. The two processors arrive as a VR-Ready solution, while from the Ryzen 5 1500X upwards, they are labeled VR-Ready Premium.
The two Ryzen 3 models have a 65W TDP and will have the Wraith Stealth heatsink, in principle more than enough to dissipate heat. Until the Raven Ridge APUs arrive, these processors can be an excellent solution for the entry-level gaming range, allowing a good system for a reasonable price. Regarding the price, we must highlight that the Ryzen 3 1300X will cost $ 129, while the Ryzen 3 1200 will cost $ 109. We clearly see how AMD wants to do with the entry gaming market and can easily achieve it.
