MEN Mikro Elektronik CB71C, based on an AMD V100 APU, with AMD Ryzen cores and AMD RX Vega graphics

The company MEN Mikro Elektronik, launches a COM Express module through the APU V1000 from AMD, which is based on AMD Ryzen cores and AMD RX Vega graphics.

Recently, the new AMD V1000 processors became known, which are basically very trimmed APUs that integrate AMD Ryzen cores and AMD RX Vega graphics. These solutions are already beginning to enter the professional market for all types of solutions, including the MEN Mikro Elektronik CB71C. This board is a highly ruggedized COM Express module, expressly developed for rail applications, public transportation and other industrial environments. Regarding the pinout of this system, it has a COM Express Type 6 output and makes use of the VITA 59 standard, which guarantees the operability of the device in adverse environmental conditions.

This COM Express module arrives in a completely closed aluminum frame, improving EMC protection and also performs the functions of conduction cooling. In addition, this system supports direct ventilation, by installing a heat sink directly on the cover. This CB71C has been designed to withstand a wide range of temperatures, being able to operate from -40ºC to + 85ºC, as well as withstanding shocks and vibrations.

Thanks to the fact that this module implements an AMD V1000 APU, integrates Vega graphics and it supports up to four displays, with a maximum resolution of 4K, thus saving additional hardware. These processors integrate up to four high-performance cores, which are especially suitable for virtualization projects. This system also offers great scalability and passive cooling allows the adjustment of energy consumption.

This card also includes a controller for the management of monitoring functions for security applications. Additionally, this system has a Trusted Platform Module and is backed by a hardware memory encryption system, which allows the CB71C to be protected from attacks on payment terminals and ticket issuance, fleet control or monitoring.
