Microsoft confirms that the leaked data from the Windows 10 source code is true, although the amount of leaked data is less than initially stated and can no longer be found in the Beta Archive.
One of the biggest enigmas within computing is the Windows source code, which is one of the great mysteries, which for years has been trying to unravel by hacking this operating system. This week, part of the Windows 10 source code has been revealed, which has been shown on the Beta Archive platform, which is aimed at the collection of applications or utilities in beta and in the collection of applications that have been abandoned.
Microsoft has confirmed to The Verge that the source code leak is real and pertains specifically to USB, storage, and Wi-Fi drivers. The leaked files belong to Microsoft's Shared Source initiative, which involves sharing code with various partners and manufacturers to optimize the development of utilities and hardware. The 32GB of leaked data could be the largest leak in history, even surpassing the 2004 leak of the Windows 2000 source code.
In the end, the amount of information leaked is much less, since it only corresponds to 1.2GB of data, as Andrew Whyman, who is one of the managers of the Beta Archive platform, has commented. He also highlighted that the information has been deleted from the platform, without the need for Microsoft to have made any claim in this regard. What is unknown at the moment is who or who has leaked this data, which coincidentally happened hours after two people were arrested in the United Kingdom, accused of being investigated for unauthorized access to the Microsoft network.
Various fields of investigation are being carried out in this, establishing, among other possibilities, that after Microsoft was hacked last March, this data that has been published will be stolen, although at the moment there is no reliable data on anything in this regard. It is also pointed out that some of the workers of companies that develop based on Microsoft, could be the leakers of all this data.
Surely ... all this will be handled with the greatest possible secrecy !!
