The MSI and Phanteks brands are partnering to offer the first motherboard and the first chassis on the market with a USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port.
MSI and Phanteks have announced the first chassis on the market that will have USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C connectivity on the market. Phanteks will soon launch the Phanteks Enthoo Elite high-end chassis, which will offer this connectivity, but the problem is that there are currently no motherboards that support this connection port, therefore MSI will be the first brand on the market to launch a motherboard. base with this connectivity, although, it will take a while to arrive.
Phanteks has partnered with MSI to carry out this special connectivity and time-only function. What we know, according to the designer of the Phanteks tower, is that the MSI M7 motherboard will be the one that initially has the USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port. Thanks to this connection port, we can reach speeds of 10GB / s in compatible devices connected on the front panel.
According to a graph (which we will put behind these lines), this USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port will be able to work faster than Thunderbolt, even the MSI version will offer an extra performance, which is very interesting. MSI for its part has said that they work every day to offer the most powerful and cutting-edge solutions in their products. Because of this great work, they have partnered with Phanteks, to bring people this exciting connectivity.
We totally do not know when this motherboard will hit the market or what its price will be, likewise we do not have data on when the Phanteks chassis will arrive on the market, but we assume that it will not be economical, knowing that it will be a high-end chassis. We imagine that the motherboard that will have USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C connectivity will be a motherboard for Intel Kaby Lake processors with the new, chipset, but it is just a speculation, since there is data about it.
