Mushkin has presented the ARMOR3D and Triactor 3D based on 3D NAND memories

Mushkin has made the leap to SSD storage drives based on 3D NAND memories, due to the absurd price that NAND Flash memories are registered for a supposed shortage.

A new player arrives on the market for storage units, such as Mushkin, who already had extensive experience in the RAM memory market, has developed the availability of the first SSD hard drives, which have been manufactured with 3D NAND memories. , which allows a very high storage density, offering units with a large capacity and extremely aggressive prices. Mushkin opts for these drives because NAND Flash drives are so rare and the price of these drives has risen so much that the price of SSD and RAM is sky high.

Mushkin first introduced the Mushkin ARMOR3D drives, which come to replace the company's previous Reactors and are characterized by being very inexpensive hard drives with NAND MLC memories. It should be noted that TLC memories are normally used, which have lower manufacturing costs, although they have a lower durability. The ARMOR3Ds continue with the Silicon Motion SM2258 controller, but with 3D NAND MLC memories produced by Micron, which have 32 layers, since the current 64 memories are not yet available in sufficient quantity. We also have the Triactor 3D, which uses 3D TLC memories, which offer better performance and which will offer an improvement in the sale price.

It should be noted that the elements integrated in these ARMOR3D units are quite similar to the components used in the ADATA SU800, SU900 and XPG SX950, since these ADATA units and those of Mushkin share a controller, so the differences between both units will be at the firmware level. Unfortunately, Mushkin has not reported the price or availability of these units, so we cannot make a comparison on the price with respect to other units on the market.
