Noctua finally if it will offer AMD Ryzen Threadripper heatsinks for the time of their departure
Noctua announces that it will finally offer availability of processors for the AMD Ryzen Threadripper and will have the NH-U15S TR4-SP3, NH-U12S TR4-SP3 and NH-U9 TR4-SP3 heatsinks.
Initially, several manufacturers said that for AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors they would not have a compatible heatsink, but Noctua, one of those who said such a thing, has disregarded that information. It seems that Noctua already has three heatsinks ready for the Threadripper, specifically the NH-U15S TR4-SP3, the NH-U12S TR4-SP3 and the NH-U9 TR4-SP3, which are the heatsink versions of the Noctua commercial models , but in this case for processors with eight, twelve and sixteen cores and make use of the TR4 socket and the six models will have a six-year warranty.
The first model is the Noctua NH-U15S TR4-SP3, which will have dimensions of 150x75x765mm and will weigh 1030 grams, composed of a compact aluminum radiator which is traversed by six copper heatpipes. This heatsink is cooled by a PWM NF-A15 fan, which can operate between 300-1500RPM and would have a maximum loudness of 24.6dBA, in addition to a useful life of about 150.000 hours. Noctua accompanies this heatsink with NT-H1 thermal paste, an LNA adapter, a SecuFirm2 mounting kit, special pads to reduce vibration, as well as a mounting kit for a second fan. This fan can with a TDP of 220W and is priced at € 79.90.
We move on to the Noctua NH-U12S TR4-SP3, a somewhat simpler heatsink, with dimensions of 125x71x1588mm and a total weight of 870 grams. This makes use of a block of aluminum fins crossed by no less than five copper heatpipes that go through all the aluminum fins. It is cooled by a NF-F12 fan, which can work between 300-1500RPM, with a maximum loudness of 22.4dBA and also offers a useful life of 150.000 hours. This heatsink features Noctua's quality thermal compound, a kit of clips to anchor fans and will be priced at € 69.90.
Finally we have the Noctua NH-U9 TR4-SP3, the simplest of all, with dimensions of 90x120x125mm and a weight of 895 grams, composed of a compact aluminum fin heatsink and which is crossed by four copper heatpipes, with a Push & Pull type fan system and has two 92mm fans that allow working between 400-2000RPM, offering a maximum loudness of 22.8dBA. The price of this fan will be € 69.90, too.
