ABZÛ is a beautiful underwater journey immersing players in a vibrant ocean world full of mysteries, life and colors. They will play as a diver, discovering hundreds of real species and forming a strong connection to the abundant marine life. Although the underwater world can be dangerous, toxic and aggressive - your mission will be to discover the mysteries of the deep and change the world around you for the better.
Developed by Giant Squid Studios - directed by Matt Nava, the artistic creator of Journey® and Flower® recognized with Grammy nominations; and the soundtrack is by composer Austin Wintory, winner of two BAFTA awards. ABZÛ uses mythology and folklore to record its story, capturing the dreamy feeling of underwater exploration. The name comes from the ancient Sumerians; AB, means water, and Z conocimiento, means knowledge: ABZÛ is the wisdom of the ocean.
ABZÛ was first released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2016, achieving critical acclaim and receiving numerous awards and nominations including "Best Original Score" for an interactive video game from the International Film Music Critics Association (winner), Artistic Achievement of the 2017 British BAFTA Awards, Music of the Year of the 2017 Game Audio Network Awards (winner), Best Original Game of the 2016 Joystick Awards and Best Art Direction of the 2016 Game Awards.
